City Architecture
Gayrettepe Metro Station is an urban architecture design project adorned with symbols of both Istanbul's and Turkey's cultural heritage. The project offers an experiential journey with artistic paintings, reliefs, directional signs on platforms, ceiling units, audio elements such as sea, ferry and seagull sounds, digital content production, 3D mapping and interactive screens.
The symbols of Istanbul and Turkey's history have been the central design elements of the metro line, transforming it into a history museum through our designs and applications. Incorporating diverse elements such as Turkey's exemplary transportation projects, Istanbul's iconic Bosphorus skyline, landmarks, Turkish culture, and significant historical buildings of the period, we have created a minimalist and modern design for the underground metro line. This design aims to allow passengers to experience the city beneath the surface.
